“Hope’s Fight: A Sick Baby Foal Who Refuses to Give Up”.

It has been an extremely long and emotional day for our sweet baby, Hope.

This morning, while our vets were thankfully on site, something terrifying happened.
Hope suffered a seizure.

Her little body stiffened, her legs quivered, and for those awful moments we felt helpless, praying she would pull through.
And she did.
She recovered from the episode—but in the fall, she struck her head.

Now, one eye is sore and swollen, another visible reminder of how fragile her young life has become.

Our vets acted quickly.
They began running tests immediately, searching for answers.

The bloodwork returned and, to our relief, much of it looked promising.
But further examination revealed something alarming: signs of sepsis in her front legs.

Sepsis.
That word carries weight.

It means infection has spread deeper than the surface.
It means this fight is far from simple.

Specialists and surgeons were consulted.
Their guidance was careful, measured: before we consider surgery, we need to dig deeper.

They believe something blood-borne could be the culprit—possibly Rhodococcus, a dangerous bacterium that preys on young foals.

✨ Tomorrow morning, Hope will be hauled into the clinic for extensive testing.

She will undergo more bloodwork, chest X-rays, and abdominal imaging.
Only then can we begin to map out the best course of treatment.

Right now, we are standing on the edge of uncertainty.

Hope is very sick.
Her body has been through so much already.
But what shines through is this: she still wants to fight.
And because of that—we will not give up on her.

Hope’s name was not chosen by accident.
It is both her identity and her battle cry.
It is what keeps us holding on, even when the odds look overwhelming.

This is the heartbreaking reality of severe neglect.

Hope is paying the price for someone else’s cruelty and failure.
She did not choose this life, this suffering, this pain.
But what she has chosen—time and again—is to keep trying.

To keep breathing.
To keep standing, even when her legs are weak.

And so we fight beside her.

We ask you tonight, from the deepest part of our hearts, to hold her in your prayers. 🙏

Pray for steady hands tomorrow as the vets run their tests.
Pray for answers that can guide us forward.
Pray for healing—for the infection in her legs, for the swelling in her eye, for the trauma her little body has endured.

Pray that Hope feels the love surrounding her from near and far.

Because she deserves every chance.
Every ounce of care.
Every possible effort we can give her.

Hope is more than a sick foal.

She is a symbol of resilience.
She is proof that even in the darkest of circumstances, life is worth saving.
And she is teaching us all a lesson about what it means to keep fighting, no matter how unfair the battle may seem.

Tomorrow will be another hard day.
But tonight, we cling to her name.
We cling to her spirit.
We cling to the belief that love and medicine and prayer together can still work miracles.

For now, we ask you to stand with us.
To carry Hope in your heart.
And to believe, as we do, that this little one still has brighter days ahead.
